The Montgomery County Commission for Women and Montgomery Women are now accepting nominations for the 2025 Montgomery County Women Making History Award. The award recognizes women who have made significant contributions to their community or profession. Recipients will be honored during Women’s History Month at a reception and panel discussion.
Nominees should demonstrate one or more of the following:
- Development or support of programs leading to positive social action.
- Exceptional leadership in civic activities.
- Inspiration to others as a role model.
- Unselfish leadership and dedication in their field.
Nominees must reside or work in Montgomery County. High school seniors and college students are also eligible for nomination. Political figures and individuals running for office are not eligible under a new rule introduced this year.
Past honorees include Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller, Maryland Secretary of State Susan Lee, and other community leaders.
Nomination forms must be completed online in full. The nomination form can be found here. Biographies included in the nomination must be original, not copied from online sources, and limited to three paragraphs. Submissions by mail will not be accepted. The deadline for the submission of nominations is Nov. 30 at 11:59 p.m.
