The Montgomery County Commission for Women has extended the nomination deadline for the 2025 “Women Making History Award” to Thursday, Dec. 12.
Presented with Montgomery Women, the annual award honors women in Montgomery County making significant contributions in their fields and communities.
Award recipients will be celebrated during Women’s History Month in March on social media and at a future panel and reception.
Nominees should demonstrate achievements in areas such as promoting social action, exceptional civic leadership, inspiring as role models, or dedication to their field. They must reside or work in Montgomery County. Students are eligible for the award.
Now in its fourth year, past recipients include trailblazers such as Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller, Maryland Secretary of State Susan Lee, and community leaders Effie Macklin, Kathy Stevens, and Carrie Fox.
Starting this year, elected officials and political candidates are ineligible for nomination. Nominations must be submitted online using the official form by the deadline. Submissions require biographies limited to three paragraphs.
