Quince Orchard defeated Wise 24-13 to claim the Maryland 4A State Championship in Annapolis Friday night. The Cougars (13-0) secured their third state title in four years and sixth in school history.
Iverson Howard and Trayvon Jackson led the Cougars’ scoring efforts, with Howard finding the end zone twice and Jackson adding a touchdown. Wise, the defending state champions, fought back in the fourth quarter but couldn’t close the gap. The Pumas finished their season 11-2.
