School Board Seeks Input on Misconduct Policy

The Montgomery County Board of Education is seeking public input on a new policy addressing investigations of employee misconduct.

The proposed Policy GCB: Investigation of Allegations of Employee Misconduct aims to establish core principles for Montgomery County Public Schools’ (MCPS) approach to misconduct investigations. The policy aligns with recommendations from the Montgomery County Office of the Inspector General.

It outlines the purpose of investigations, expectations for employee conduct, and current standards found in regulations and the employee handbook.

The draft policy has been open for public comment since Dec. 10. The comment period will close Feb. 3, 2025.

To review the policy or submit comments, visit the Montgomery County Board of Education’s website.
