1. National Christmas Tree Lighting: The 102nd National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, hosted by Mickey Guyton, took place on the Ellipse at The White House and President’s Park on Thursday, December 5. CBS will broadcast a recording of the ceremony Friday, Dec. 20 at 8 p.m. ET.

3. Metrorail Station Closures: Starting today and continuing through Monday, Dec. 30, Metro will alter train service and close some stations as part of a construction project. Free shuttle buses will replace trains in between affected stations.

4. Summer Camps: Camps will be available to view online starting today, the digital guide will be released on Jan. 3. Registration begins Tuesday, Jan. 21. Plan to attend the camp fairs the county offers on Sunday, Jan. 5 and Saturday, Jan. 11.
5. Wootton High School Choir: To help ring in the holidays, MCM went to Thomas S. Wootton High School and asked their award-winning choir, led by choir director Keith Schwartz, to perform some holiday music for our cameras.
