Early on Monday, Jan. 6, a collision occurred on Ridge Rd (MD 27) at Snowden Farm Road in Germantown, resulting in damage to the traffic signal. All lanes are now closed between Snowden Farm Pkwy and Brink Rd. Officials warn motorists to expect significant delays and to seek alternate routes.

The National Weather Service has extended the Winter Storm Warning until 1 a.m. Tuesday for the area, advising against non-essential travel due to heavy snowfall and potential road hazards.
Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) crews are actively working to clear roads and address hazardous conditions. Residents are urged to stay off the roads to allow crews to perform their duties effectively.
