The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Montgomery County, effective from 10 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday.
Snowfall is expected to bring total accumulations of 1 to 2 inches. Light to moderate snow will move into the area late Friday evening and taper off Saturday morning.
The advisory warns of potentially hazardous road conditions. Bridges, overpasses, and untreated surfaces may become slick and slippery. Drivers should reduce speed and exercise caution when traveling overnight and during the early morning hours.
Pedestrians are also advised to use caution. Icy stairs, sidewalks, and driveways could increase the risk of slips and falls.
Winter Weather Advisories are in place this evening through early Sat morning across the I-64 corridor into central VA and southern MD. Further, the Alleghenies are also in such advisories, but through 7 PM Sat. For more: https://t.co/ZOlvESgJ2H #DCwx #VAwx #WVwx #MDwx pic.twitter.com/WDj3sGtlIp
