With the help of one of its drones, a 15-year-old male was arrested and charged with armed robbery and assault in Gaithersburg.
Using Raven 3, one of the Montgomery County Police’s Drone as First Responder units, officers responded to the 800 block of West Side Drive on Jan. 10 for a report of an armed robbery.
Police learned that the teenage suspect approached a juvenile with a knife, assaulted him and stole his shoes.
Raven 3, which was nearby, located the suspect and provided police officers with the suspect’s movements.
The suspect was arrested and the shoes were recovered. He is charged with armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment before being released to a guardian.
