Gaithersburg Announces First Annual Film Festival

The first-ever Gaithersburg Film Festival will take place in April.

According to the city, the festival “is dedicated to creating a platform for diverse creators and communities to share their stories, traditions, and artistic expressions through film” and aims to raise awareness about social and cultural issues, as well as encourage dialogue and cross-cultural understanding.

The festival will happen April 25-27 at the Arts Barn at 311 Kent Square Road in Gaithersburg.

Filmmakers can enter their submissions here. The regular submission deadline is Jan. 30 and the late submission deadline is Feb. 28. There is a $5-$15 registration fee based on type of submission.

Those whose films are selected to play at the festival will be notified by March 29.
