That sent millions of American users downloading their content to share on a new platform. Then the app shut down, only to reappear a day later. For one local mom who promotes her business there it has been an anxious time.
Tiktok got a new short lease on life when President Trump signed an Executive Order allowing it to continue to operate for another 90 days. In the meantime, in a move to remove the Chinese ownership from the equation, multiple American buyers have lined up to bid on the platform. So the fate of TikTok remains in the hands of its Chinese owners ByteDance.
