Senators Offer Telephone Town Hall for Federal Workers

On Wednesday, Maryland senators Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks will hold a telephone Town Hall to update their constituents on the protections available to federal employees.

According to the press release, the senators will take questions and provide answers on “how we’re fighting back during this unprecedented and challenging time.”

They will be joined by Rob Shriver of Democracy Forward, “an organization taking legal actions to stop this abuse of power.”

In the weeks since the presidential inauguration, jobs in government have been under threat with the “Fork in the Road” resignation offer and cutbacks anticipated at various federal agencies.

The telephone Town Hall will be held on Wednesday night. To join, sign up to be dialed in here. By signing up you will receive a call to join the telephone town hall at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night. The deadline to sign up to receive this call is Wednesday morning at 9:00 am. To listen in but not join the call via phone or if you miss the sign-up deadline, join the livestream of the town hall on Senator Van Hollen’s website.
