1. Winter Storm Warning: The county is under a Winter Storm Warning from 1 p.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday.

2. Black History Month: One of the most iconic American novels is said to have been inspired by a man who was once enslaved in Montgomery County. Josiah Henson is the inspiration behind Harriet Beecher Stowe’s “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” Those telling Henson’s story locally want people to know the persevering hero behind the controversial character.
This Black History Month, MCM visits the museum in North Bethesda that spotlights the real “Uncle Tom.”
3. Council Meeting: The county council will meet today starting at 9:15 a.m. with a proclamation recognizing Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. The meeting will be livestreamed on YouTube @MoCoCouncilMD.
4. Study: Four cities in Montgomery County rank among the top 10 most ethnically diverse in the U.S., according to a WalletHub study released last week. Germantown, Gaithersburg, Silver Spring, and Rockville stand out in a nationwide analysis of more than 500 cities.

5. ICYMI: Last week, the family of late police officer Douglas Haggerty was surprised with a road dedicated in his honor, exactly three years after his death. On Feb. 4, 2022, Haggerty, an 11-year veteran of the Montgomery County Police Department, died after experiencing a medical problem which led to his single-car crash. He was 36 years old.
