Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) will close Wednesday as a winter storm is expected to bring up to six inches of snow.
MCPS crews will work overnight and through the morning to clear snow from buses, depots, and school facilities. County teams will plow and treat roads to improve travel conditions. Officials say preparing 211 schools, seven bus depots, and other facilities will take all day.
What’s Affected?
- All MCPS schools and offices will close.
- Emergency personnel must report on time.
- All school activities, field trips, and athletic events are canceled.
- Childcare programs and community events will not take place.
MCPS urges residents to remove vehicles from school parking lots to speed up snow removal.
Officials say safety remains the top priority when making weather-related closure decisions. They encourage families to check the MCPS website and local news for updates.
