School Bus Involved in Silver Spring Collision

Icy road conditions led to a two-vehicle collision involving a school bus in the 10700 block of Columbia Pike in Silver Spring, Md. Friday morning.

The Montgomery County Department of Police told MCM that officers responded to the collision at approximately 6:39 a.m. on Feb. 14. No students were on the bus at the time of the collision.

Pete Piringer, a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service (MCFRS), said that the collision happened near Trader Joe’s and Starbucks and that several lanes were blocked.

According to police, the driver of the second vehicle was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The department added that this is an active and ongoing investigation and that additional details are still emerging.
