
Several acres burned up following a brush fire in Dickerson Monday afternoon, according to the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service (MCFRS).
MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer said that the fire department responded to an incident at 20800 Beallsville Rd. between Sellman Road and Big Woods Road around 2:20 p.m. Several acres of woods, logs and stumps were affected, and multiple power lines fell over.
The fire approached several structures, but was contained before damaging them, according to Piringer. As of 3:30 p.m., firefighters were working on a few remaining hotspots in the area, but no injuries were reported.
