Gaithersburg Man Killed in Collision in Poolesville

A Gaithersburg man died following a collision Feb. 21 in Poolesville.

Marcos Anton Solorzano Ramirez, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene on White’s Ferry Road near the intersection of Partnership Road.

Ramirez was driving a green 2000 Acura Integra eastbound on White’s Ferry Road when he collided with a white 2023 Ford Transit van that was headed westbound at 6 p.m., according to Montgomery County Police.

The adult male drive of the van remained on the scene and was not injured.

The collision is under investigation. Police ask anyone who was a witness to call 240-773-6620.

A GoFundMe site was set up to help repatriate his body to El Salvador, cover funeral expenses and provide assistance for his wife and her children.

According to the site, which has raised almost $14,000, “Marcos was a beloved father, spouse and friend known for his kindness and generosity. He touched the lives of so many. His sudden passing has left a void in our hearts that can never be filled.”
