Work on the Purple Line continues as its moves closer to its opening date in December of 2027.
At the start of 2024, the 16-mile light rail line was 63.4% complete. It is now 74 % finished, according to Purple Line officials.
35% of the track has been installed, several miles of sidewalk are completed and 20 of the 21 future stations are under construction, according to officials.
In Montgomery County, work preparing for track installation east of the Bethesda enclosed trainway is ongoing.
