GEICO insurance company is moving its headquarters from Chevy Chase to Bethesda, company officials announced Thursday.
For the past 65 years, GEICO employees have been working out of offices on Western Avenue. That building “is no longer suitable for our needs, and we need a more modern, right-sized workspace for our officials,” GEICO employees were told.
“We are excited about our journey for a newer and more modern workspace for you. We will continue to keep you updated as this process progresses on the timeline of our upcoming transition,” company officials told their employees.
The new location in downtown Bethesda includes flexible areas to work and is convenient to public transportation, according to an email company officials sent to MCM.
The move from Friendship Heights to 7272 Wisconsin Avenue is only 2.5 miles away from the current location.
Company officials said they expected to move to the new headquarters in early 2026 but did not give a specific date.
