EmpowHER 2025: Small Business Resource Fair
- Date & Time: March 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Location: The Universities at Shady Grove – Building II, 9630 Gudelski Drive, Building II, Rockville, MD 20850.
- Description: The Maryland Women’s Business Center presents “EmpowHER: Small Business Resource Fair.” This event provides a platform for entrepreneurs and professionals to exchange ideas, network, and share strategies for business success. The agenda includes a keynote speech by Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman, a panel discussion titled “Built to Last: Timeless Tips for Thriving through Challenges,” Ignite & Inspire presentations, and opportunities for networking. Additional features include Resource Row, the EmpowHERment Lounge offering headshots and mini makeovers (available at an extra cost), and a donation drive in partnership with Interfaith Works. Light refreshments will be provided.

Women on Track: Celebrating Women’s Story in Rail and Trolley History

- Description: Join the National Capital Trolley Museum for “Women on Track,” a special event honoring the remarkable contributions of women in the transportation industry. Explore their pioneering roles in rail and trolley history through engaging exhibits, storytelling, and interactive experiences.

Empowering Women in a Changing World with Lt. Governor Aruna Miller

Researching Your Female Ancestors – In-Person
- Date & Time: March 22, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

- Description: Because married women took their husband’s names, it can be difficult to find out what the wife’s birth surname was and therefore difficult to trace the woman’s family. The presentation will discuss sources for finding that information.

ABC Storytime

Description: Enjoy an interactive storytime focusing on the ABCs and notable women whose names start with each letter. Ideal for young children and families.

Women’s History Month Painting Workshop
Date & Time: March 27, at 7:00 p.m.
Location: Hammer & Stain Rockville, 107 Gibbs Street, Rockville, MD 20850.
Description: Participate in a canvas painting workshop where instructors will guide you step by step to create an acrylic masterpiece. Each participant will receive a partially sketched 16 x 20 canvas and all necessary materials. The class will last approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.

Women of Woodlawn Walking Tour

Description: This guided tour highlights the “Women of Woodlawn” and the societal norms of women from the early 1800s to the 1970s. The tour includes interior and exterior spaces and lasts approximately 45 minutes.
