On Tuesday, Senator Chris Van Hollen spoke up for federal workers outside the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in Washington. Van Hollen joined members of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) to denounce the illegal attacks on merit-based civil servants.
Van Hollen emphasized the importance of getting the message out beyond the nation’s capital.
Last Thursday a federal judge responded to a suit by AFGE ruling the Office of Personnel Management lacks the authority to fire probationary employees at other government agencies. Currently there are dozens of lawsuits filed against the actions of the Department of Government Efficiency.
