Transit Services Adjust for Federal Employees Returning to Work

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is offering federal employees transportation as they return to in-person work, ensuring easier commutes for residents.

Designed for residents, the Ride On bus will serve federal work locations across the county and major transit hubs, making travel to Washington, D.C., more accessible.

“MCDOT has steadily increased bus service over the last few years, with faster, high-frequency bus service that uses sections of dedicated bus lanes and traffic signal priority to reduce congestion impacts on bus speed,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich.

Ride On bus fares are set at $1 per ride, with free transfers available for federal workers commuting via Metro.

Additionally, the MCDOT has been working with federal agencies to expand parking availability near select federal installations.
