On her website Celeste Iroha tells you she’s not a politician. But at this moment in time, she is the only official candidate registered with the Maryland Board of Elections in the race for County Executive.
A self-described medical professional Iroha has worked in healthcare in the county for 14 years as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), a Community Health Worker (CHW) and a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLS).
According to her website, Iroha will take the lessons she has learned in healthcare to the role of County Executive. The chief plank in her platform is equal healthcare for all.
Here is some of her message for prospective voters:
I’ve seen firsthand the gaps in our healthcare system, the struggles of our working families, and the need for a stronger, more vibrant economy. I’m not a politician who makes empty promises. I’m a proven leader, a dedicated advocate, and a tireless worker. I bring to the table experience, empathy, and a unwavering commitment to serving you. I will not disappoint the communities I have dedicated my life to serving. I’m asking for your support, not just as a vote, but as a partnership. Let’s work together to build a brighter future, a healthier community, and a stronger tomorrow.
Earlier this week Councilmember At-Large Evan Glass declared his candidacy for County Executive and speculation abounds that Councilmember Andrew Friedson will soon enter the race.
