Gaithersburg City Councilmember Jim McNulty announced he is running for re-election this year.
He kicked off his campaign Saturday at Gaithersburg’s St. Patrick’s Day parade.
“Four years ago, you helped me bring a new voice to our city,” he said in a video message. “And I’m so proud of the work that we’ve done together, but there’s much more work still to be done.”
McNulty is council liaison for Gaithersburg’s Cultural Arts Advisory Committee and Olde Towne Advisory Committee.
He was elected in 2021. The city council has five members that each serve four-year terms. Mayor Jud Ashman presides over the council.
Gaithersburg city elections are held in November during odd numbered years. The election for city residents is this Nov. 4.
Along with his role as councilmember, McNulty is also a realtor.
