The Tesla showroom at Westfield Montgomery mall in Bethesda has been shut down. Regular signage has been removed. Signs on the storefront read “We’ve Moved” and directs people to the other Tesla dealerships in Silver Spring in Washington D.C.
When asked for a statement about the closing MCM received this message from the Marketing Director Catherine Brady said “We can confirm Tesla is no longer a retailer at Westfield Montgomery and can’t wait to share with you what’s coming soon!” Brady did not give a reason for the closing.
MCM also wrote to Tesla about the closing but has received no response as of this writing.
Tesla opened the showroom at Westfield Montgomery in 2013.
Recently there have been several incidents of vandalism and destruction of Teslas at dealerships around the United States. Protests continue to grow in size outside the Rockville dealer on Saturday mornings.
