WSSC Water urges customers to check for water leaks that could be driving up their bills. Even small leaks waste thousands of gallons each year, leading to significant costs.

WSSC Water customers can request dye tablets by emailing communications@wsscwater.com. Please include the number of toilets in your home and your mailing address. Besides tablets most hardware stores carry bottles of blue dye you can use to test your toilets.
Leaky faucets also waste water. A faucet dripping once per second can waste over 3,000 gallons yearly equal to 180 showers. Worn-out washers and gaskets often cause these leaks. Homeowners should also check outdoor spigots and irrigation systems as temperatures rise.
For those needing financial assistance, WSSC Water has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland to assist eligible customers through the Customer Assistance Program (CAP). CAP-enrolled customers can get a free annual plumbing inspection and up to $9,000 in repairs for on-property leaks. More details are available at wsscwater.com/capleakrepair.
