Family Escapes Damascus Townhome Fire

A house fire in Damascus resulted in about $250,000 in damage and the death of three cats, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS).

One adult and three children were alerted by their smoke alarms and got out of the home uninjured.

According to MCFRS, the fire began in the kitchen of a unit in the Greenhills Apartments and Townhomes on Tralee Terrace, The cause appeared to be combustibles left too close to the stove top. The fire was ruled accidental.
