Today is Wednesday, Dec. 23 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. COVID-19 Testing: Free COVID-19 testing is available throughout the county at seven testing sites today. The schedule of clinics may be found here.

2. Manna Food Distribution: Manna will distribute weekend food bags at 10 locations today from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. instead of Friday this week. Manna says all county children and families are welcome.

3. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Letter Contest Deadline: Today is the deadline for county high school students to submit a letter to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Letter Contest. Four students will be chosen to read and record their letters for the the county’s virtual MLK Memorial event on Jan. 18, 2021.

4. MoComCon Essay Contest Deadline: It’s also the deadline to submit your entry for the #MoComCon art, cosplay and essay contests. MoComCon is Montgomery County Public Libraries’ comic convention. On Jan. 16, it returns as a full-day virtual event that celebrates all things comic, graphic novel, and fandom. The free convention is open to all.

5. Senior Planet Montgomery: Senior Planet Montgomery continues to offer free Zoom classes to senior residents. Today’s classes include “Facebook” and “Virtual Museum Tours.”
