Initial claims for unemployment filed by Montgomery County residents fell by more than 2,000 during the week that ended on Feb. 6.
Last week, 3,033 county residents filed initial claims, according to the Maryland Department of Labor (DOL). During the previous week, which ended on Jan. 30, 5,200 residents filed initial claims. During the week that ended on Jan. 23, 4,844 residents filed initial claims. During the week that ended Jan. 16, 4,503 county residents filed initial claims.
