The construction of Avocet Towers in Bethesda will close two lanes on Montgomery Avenue between Wisconsin Avenue and Waverly Street during mid-summer. It will occur near the future building located at 7373 Wisconsin Ave.
According to officials, the lanes will remain temporarily closed overnight from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays.
In an effort to minimize traffic congestion and tend to pedestrian safety concerns, night work is required. The work will include cutting the asphalt, excavation, pipe placement and is expected to be completed by mid summer weather permitting.
The lanes must be closed due to the installation of new water laterals and abandoning existing water mains while building construction continues.
