Update (Aug.19 at 12:45 p.m.): Police say a teenager has been arrested for the fatal shooting at the Plum Gar Community Recreation Center in Germantown on Wednesday night. Three juveniles and one adult were shot after an altercation at the recreation center, according to authorities. Police say a man died as a result.
14-year-old Shilen Wylie has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder, according to a Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) press release.
On Wednesday, at 10:00 p.m., officers responded to Scenery Dr. in Germantown after a shooting. Upon arrival, police say they located three victims on the basketball court with gunshot wounds – the fourth victim was located nearby. All the victims, including three juveniles and one adult, were transported to local hospitals with varying injuries. MCPD says the adult victim, 20-year-old Axel Trejos, was later pronounced dead.
Officers later located two male suspects – including Wylie, who has been taken into custody. Police say Wylie has been charged as an adult. The other suspect, a juvenile, has not been charged, according to police.
MCPD says this is an isolated incident and the homicide investigation remains ongoing.

Original Post (Aug. 18): Montgomery County Police Department tweeted that four people were shot Wednesday evening at Plum Gar Community Recreation Center in Germantown. The police have a media staging area at Scenery Drive and Moon Ridge Drive.

Pete Piringer, spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, tweeted that first responders have transported “several trauma patients.”
