According to officials, at least 1,000 students and staff are quarantined since Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) started the school year last week.
“It’s across the district. We have 209 schools, and in the last five days or so, I’d say we posted letters of about 44 positive cases,” said MCPS Communications Supervisor Gboyinde Onijala.
Here are more details about how guidance from health officials determine when MCPS students and staff are required to quarantine.
