Lacrosse Legend Rabil Retires

Lacrosse superstar and Gaithersburg native Paul Rabil announced his retirement Tuesday at Audi Field in Washington DC. Rabil, 35, starred at Watkins Mill High School before transferring to DeMatha High School then played at Johns Hopkins University where the Blue Jays won two NCAA championships (2005, 2007) before becoming one of the sport’s greatest pro players earning all-star honors 10 straight years (2008-2017).

Rabil and his brother Mike are co-founders of the Premier Lacrosse League.

The PLL championship game will be played Sunday at Audi Field, home of DC United and the Washington Spirit.
