Montgomery County Police arrested Michael Joseph Weschler Jr. of Aspen Hill and charged him with sexual assault.
Police were called to an area hospital for a report of a sexual assault that occurred on Dec. 23. According to police, the woman had joined a local chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous about 10 weeks earlier.
Weschler Jr., the group’s leader, befriended the victim and invited her to his home in the 4100 block of Landgreen Street in Aspen Hill for help with her treatment, according to police. While at his home, police said that Weschler Jr. sexually assaulted the woman.
MCP Detectives from the Special Victims Investigations Division, Sex Assault Unit, expressed concern Weschler Jr. may have used his position to sexually assault other women. They ask anyone with information to call 240-773-5050.
