1. Beauty Meets Diversity: The Chase the Dream Culture, Arts and Beauty holds its 4th annual Multi Cultural and Humanitarian Gala at the Great Hall in the Silver Spring Civic Center. The 2019 humanitarian theme “Celebrate Cultures! Staying Heart Smart!” aims to raise cardiovascular health awareness. The evening starts at 6:30 p.m.
2. Spooky Spy Train: The Cabin John Train will have a Halloween Eye Spy Train starting at 4 p.m. Ride through “Trainsylvania” and look along the railroad tracks for hidden ghosts, goblins, bats, black ats, and other friendly creatures. Keep track of them all on your Halloween Eye Spy Train card. The $7 rides take place 4 to 6 p.m. Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in October. For more information, click here.
3. Art Show: The Arts League of Germantown shows off some of its best at Glenview Mansion, 603 Edmonston Drive, Rockville. The exhibition runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
4. Ballots in the Mail: Rockville’s registered voters should be receiving their ballots in the city’s first Vote by Mail election. The city will choose a mayor and four councilmembers on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
5. Bilingual Storytime: The Silver Spring Library is hosting a Spanish/English storytime on Saturday for ages 3-7 to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
