A woman was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition after she was shot early Monday, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
At about 12:40 a.m. Monday, officers responded to the 12300 block of Stravinsky Terrace in the Fairland area of Silver Spring for a call about shots fired followed by a residential alarm call at the location, per the police department’s public information office. Officers found the doors were open at the residence and found a woman inside suffering gunshot wounds.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service arrived and provided aid before the victim was taken to a hospital “in serious but stable condition,” police said.
MCPD said, “There is no report of whether anything was stolen.”
There are no suspects in custody at this time. This is an active investigation.
