The lockdown at Montgomery Blair High School has been lifted following a report that a weapon was seen outside the school.

At approximately 2:06 p.m., Principal Renay Johnson informed parents that the school was on lockdown. “Montgomery County Police are here and students and staff are safe in the school building,” Johnson wrote in an email
A student inside the school told MyMCM they were placed in a shelter in place at approximately 2:30 p.m. Students were dismissed by floor level at 2:40 p.m.
Police did not find a weapon on school grounds, police spokesperson Sheira Goff told MyMCM. Officers continue to investigate the validity of the initial report.

Police remained at the school for a staggered dismissal and to assure all student exited the school, Goff said. No injuries were reported.
