The city of Gaithersburg and Arts Alliance of the Gaithersburg Parks, Arts, and Recreation (G-PARC) are looking for artists for the Maryland Waterways exhibit, according to a news release. The artwork will be on display at the Benjamin Gaither Center Gallery in Gaithersburg from October to January.
Anyone living in the state of Maryland is eligible to enter their art. Artists under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian submit the application. The last day to submit artwork is Sept. 9. Artists will be notified of their selection by Sept. 23.
The exhibit, a part of G-PARC’s Art and the Environment program, will feature art that highlights Maryland’s waterways like creeks, streams, the Atlantic shoreline and the Chesapeake Bay.
All artwork will be for sale during the exhibit with a portion of the proceeds to go to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to help preserve Maryland’s waterways.
