MyMCM’s Game of the Week features a matchup between the Richard Montgomery Rockets (3-6) and the Churchill Bulldogs (7-2) in the first round of the class 4A playoffs.
Churchill enters the playoffs as the third seed of the class 4A West division, while Richard Montgomery slots in as the sixth seed.
The Bulldogs won seven straight games to close out the regular season after starting the season 0-2. Churchill’s offense scored at least 28 points in six of their seven wins.
The Rockets got off to a 3-2 start this season, including high-scoring victories over Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Whitman (91 total points) then faltered over the second half of the season, losing four straight games to close out the regular season.
When the two teams squared off in the regular season, Churchill prevailed 34-24.
