Recently released surveillance video shows a 2020 shooting aboard a Metro train involving an FBI agent near Medical Center Station.
MyMCM requested the video footage from the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office. It shows the shooting and contains graphic content. There is no audio.
Eduardo Valdivia, a supervising specialist FBI agent from Gaithersburg, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, use of a firearm during a felony and reckless endangerment. He was on trial this week in Montgomery County Circuit Court. On Friday, a jury found Valdivia not guilty.
According to Metro Transit Police, an FBI agent fired his weapon several times after a verbal exchange with a passenger on Dec. 15, 2020. The victim was struck and hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
