Montgomery County Police officers are investigating two shootings in Germantown that occurred in the past six weeks.
In the most recent shooting, a 16-year-old male was taken to the hospital in critical condition Thursday. According to police he was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was located in the 13300 block of Demetrias Way on Feb. 2 at 4:15 p.m.
Two possible suspects were seen running from the area, but no one is in custody as of Friday morning.
In the earlier incident, Twon Kelly, 26, of Kensington, has been charged in connection with a shooting Dec. 27, 2022, in the area of Town Commons Court in Germantown at about 2:13 a.m.
Police arrived at the scene after receiving a report. When the officers arrived, the caller said that there was a knock at their door. The victims then saw two male suspects outside their residence. One was armed with a handgun, according to police.
The suspect, who later was identified as Kelly, began to shoot at the house, according to police.
Police obtained a search warrant and searched Kelly’s residence, where they said they found evidence both in the house and inside the vehicle in which he was arrested on Jan. 5.
Kelly was charged with attempted first-degree murder, first degree assault and a number of other firearm related violations.
