It’s Thursday, March 9, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.
1. White Flint West Workaround Project: Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Council President Evan Glass, County Councilmembers, County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) Director Chris Conklin, other County officials and community groups will join ceremonies today at 11 a.m. to mark the completion of the White Flint West Workaround project.
The event will take place at the corner of Grand Park Avenue and Banneker Street, North Bethesda.
2. Montgomery County Council: Committees will review legislation and resolutions that would rename the Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Advisory Council, designate a local management board for children, youth and families, create an Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Commission, add a special projects manager position in the Office of the County Executive and update eligibility for elderly individuals and retired military service members to expand property tax credits.

3. Doing Business With Montgomery County: virtual 3-part series where you’ll learn everything you need to know about doing business with the Montgomery County Government. Topics will include certification and resources, the solicitation process, how to do business with other entities, and much more. Connect from 10:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

5. Fighting Fentanyl: A Call to Action (ICYMI): Residents were able to ask questions in a live Q&A session following the presentation. Host Andrea Sarralde was joined by Fire & Rescue Services chief spokesperson Pete Piringer and Montgomery Goes Purple Co-founder Laura Mitchell.
