For the month of March, the Montgomery Department of Transportation (MCDOT) asks RideOn bus users 18 and over to show appreciation for their bus driver’s quality service by posting on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.
The posts serve as entries into MCDOT’s Shout Out to Your Bus Driver Contest, intended to promote Transit Driver Appreciation Day on Saturday, March 18, according to a press release.
To be entered in weekly drawings for a prize pack of SmarTrip cards and other items, all posts should tag @RideOnMCT and @MCDOTNow and include the hashtag #TransitDriverAppreciation. If a post highlights a bus driver’s name, that bus driver will then be entered into a gift card raffle.
For those bus riders without social media accounts, thank you emails sent to mcdot.social@montgomerycountymd.gov will also be entered.
The first drawing will occur on Friday, March 17. The winner, who must live or work in the county, will have ten days to claim their prize after being notified through social media direct message or email. Other drawings will be held on the following two Fridays in March.
