1996 Olympic gold medalist and Silver Spring native Dominique Dawes opened her second gymnastics and ninja academy on Saturday.
Dawes and her family held a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the opening. The new Dominique Dawes Gymnastics and Ninja Academy is located at 5626 Randolph Road in Montrose Shopping Center.
“Our focus is on developing the whole child, making sure their focus is on physical health, emotional health, mental health as well as social health,” she told MyMCM.
It is a 20,000 square-foot gym, according to a press release. Dawes opened her first location in Clarksburg in 2020.
