As runners take off in the Pike’s Peek 10K on Sunday, April 23, there will be rolling road closures and detours in Rockville.
The race, organized by the Montgomery County Road Runners Club (MCRRC), kicks off at 7:50 a.m. at the Shady Grove Metro Station. Road closures begin at 5:00 a.m. on Redland Road. Different roads will be closed during certain time blocks to shorten regular traffic flow disruptions.
At each intersection along the course, there will be a Rockville City police officer, Montgomery County police officer or Pike’s Peek 10K marshal present. Drivers should exude caution and follow instructions when traveling around the area of the race.
The full schedule of road closures can be found on the Pike’s Peek 10K website.
Pike & Rose will host a post-race festival at the finish area for participants and spectators to celebrate with food, music and other activities. According to the website, spectators should travel to Pike & Rose from Old Georgetown Road.
