A semi-tractor trailer full of paper products was smoldering on I-270 on Tuesday, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer.
It occurred on northbound I-270 at exit 6A in Rockville.
MCFRS pulled out pallets and was extinguishing the scene, Piringer shared Tuesday afternoon on Twitter.
Some lanes were temporarily blocked. All travel lanes have reopened, the county’s Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (OEMHS) shared shortly before 3 p.m.
OEMHS tells drivers to expect residual delays.
All travel lanes reopened on NB I-270 at MD-28 (Exit 6W / West Montgomery Ave) from earlier traffic incident. Expect residual delays. #mdtraffic
