Visit Montgomery is sponsoring May as Discover MoCo Month, its largest initiative for the tourism and hospitality industry with four weeks of programs to recognize small businesses and entrepreneurs.
Each week residents and visitors will be able to take part in different special events or deals across the county ranging from restaurants to hotels and other attractions. Using the Visit MoCo Adventure Planner app, individuals can check in at participating locations for the opportunity to win up to $2,000 in giveaways.
The month kicks off with Shop MoCo Week from April 30 to May 6, which is also National Small Business Week, encouraging people to shop from local retailers and boutiques exclusive to the county. Certain locations are celebrating the week by offering discounts to shoppers.
From May 7-13, or National Tourism and Travel Week, Visit Montgomery and Montgomery County Hotels will hold MoCo Hotel Week. During this segment of Discover MoCo Month, visitors can book hotels with special rates and packages.
The third annual MoCo Eats Week will take place from May 14-20, honoring the diverse range of cuisines available in the county. Anyone looking to try new dishes or eat at a local restaurant can receive discounts from select establishments.
Throughout the month, celebrations will also extend to the craft beverage producers on Visit Montgomery’s Tastemakers Trail before wrapping up with MoCo’s Kick Off to Summer Week. From May 21-31, museums, downtown centers and other attractions will host a number of events and experiences.
