The winners of the sixth annual Montgomery County Commission for Women’s “Girl Power Contest” have been announced.
The contest ran in March in honor of Women’s History Month. Entrants were tasked with illustrating/writing how the six new women members of the County Council can make the community is a place where women and girls feel safe and encouraged.
The 2023 winners and honorable mention recipients are:
The CFW commissioners, and other representatives from the county judged more than 30 entries including short stories, drawings, songs, or poems. Submissions were evaluated based on creativity and content. Here’s the first place adult winner Natalie Jean’s entry called “Authentically Me.”
