Police said an armed robbery occurred at a Motel 6 in Gaithersburg and ask for the public’s help identifying a suspect.
It occurred two weeks ago at the Motel 6 in the 400 block of Quince Orchard Road, according to a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
According to MCPD, on Friday, May 26 at about 12 a.m. the suspect was seen going into a room occupied by two females and exiting about 15 minutes later. Upon exiting, the suspect grabbed a purse that belonged to one of the female victims and displayed a knife toward them. The purse contained U.S. currency.
“Both victims attempted to stop the suspect and a struggle ensued, which continued outside the hotel room,” police stated. Then the suspect escaped.
Police described the suspect as “a large White male, in his thirties. He has short black hair, black beard, and a tattoo on his right forearm. He was wearing black rimmed-glasses, a multicolor t-shirt, black pants and black/white New Balance shoes.”
