Students from Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) celebrated their last day of the 2022-2023 year Friday.
Superintendent Monifa McKnight shared a message Friday to MCPS community members to reflect on the end of the year and celebrate the success of the many students and staff members across the county.
“You have all shown incredible resilience, adaptability and tenacity,” McKnight said in her video message.
McKnight encouraged students to take time to not only spend time with their families during their time off, but to also explore by trying new things, going to new places or reading new books.
“When the time comes to head back to school, know that our educators and administrators are hard at work preparing for another incredible year,” McKnight said.
The superintendent also congratulated high school graduates and called on them to stay connected to the MCPS community. She will be sending an end-of-year round up to community members this coming week to reflect on the year.
MCPS community members are invited to the upcoming back-to-school fair on August 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Westfield Wheaton to kick off the new school year.
