Stonehedge Park in White Oak is facing remodeling plans. Construction is set to begin in fall 2024.
Montgomery Parks is asking county residents to complete a survey stating which remodel concept they prefer. There are two concepts being considered:
Both include the basketball court, a community garden, a renovated playground and parking lot, a new and relocated fitness area, seating areas with shade, and upgraded stormwater management, according to Montgomery Parks. The park’s field will also be downsized in order to fit a path around its perimeter.
Both concepts are set to include improved accessibility.
The first concept has a picnic pavilion between the community garden and playground.
The second concept introduces a pickleball court between the community garden and basketball court. There would be a general shift of all of the amenities in order to accommodate the court.
The survey on the two concepts is open until July 31 and can be found here. The design will be finalized at the end of the summer.
